We’re passionate about our work because we lived our own stories of academic failures and successes. Our advisors were all former transfer students themselves.

One of those stories begins with a stack of college rejections in high school. Our cofounder Koichi’s community college journey began with the hope that an Associate’s degree might open new doors. What he didn’t know at the time was that those doors led to schools that he was discouraged from applying to in high school, including Cornell University, where he transferred and graduated.

Experiences like his shape our understanding of how different transfer admissions can be compared to the “typical” process from high school that other advising firms specialize in. For example, some schools may not offer financial aid for transfer students or may only accept guaranteed transfer students who were originally accepted in high school.
